This upright five-point interwoven star pendant features a central faceted indochinite (tektite) gemstone and a heavy bale with celtic knotwork detailing. Pendant measures 1-1/4" long by 7/8" wide.
Indochinites are the youngest tektites on the planet, having formed about 800,000 years ago. Tektites are believed to be created by a meteor that impacts with enough velocity to vaporize itself and the surrounding material. These vapors are ejected back into the upper atmosphere where they solidify and rain back down to the earth as solids. In antiquity they were known as Fire Pearls. Tektite can provide encouragement for one to gather knowledge through the travels of life and is held in high esteem in the Orient as a talisman of great power. Polynesian tribal elders believed that tektites would bring wealth and fertility in all endeavors. |
